It is my pleasure to introduce myself to you as the new President of the Fairmont State Alumni Association Board of Governors. I am a proud graduate and have had the privilege to work at our alma mater now for over 25 years in the admissions office and with a federal grant, GEAR UP, which educated students and families of the importance of receiving an education beyond high school.
Over the 30 years that I have been on campus as a student and an employee, I am so impressed with how the leadership on campus continues to strive to improve programs and services for our students. A new complex, University Terrace, which was built next to the Feaster Center and practice field, is providing luxurious housing options to our students which includes studio apartments, semi-suites, and quad and double apartments. The older apartments next to campus, who some knew as Forest Glen, will be torn down to accommodate additional parking.
If you have not been on campus lately, I encourage you to come for a visit! Just stop by my office on the first floor of the Turley Center (the old bookstore) and I would be happy to give you a personal tour of campus or if you cannot make it to campus, click to take a virtual tour of campus.
In closing, I would like to thank Nick Fantasia for his dedication and leadership during the years he served as the board president. His continued support and friendship to the institution and the Alumni Board are greatly appreciated.
