There are many well-known acting dynasties: The Barrymores; The Carradines; The Fondas. Did you know that Fairmont has its very own theatrical family? Fairmont natives Shannon and Chris Yost have been appearing together onstage with The Fairmont State University Masquers Town and Gown Summer Theatre since 2006, when they both played orphans in a production of Oliver. Now, 12 years later, they can be seen together again in this summer's presentation, The 1940s Radio Hour.

The Fairmont State University Town and Gown Theatre presents “The 1940’s Radio Hour” a musical theatre production. The play will be performed in the Wallman Hall Theatre on the campus of Fairmont State on June 15, 16, 21, 22, and 21 at 7:30 p.m., and on Sunday, June 17 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by calling the box office at 304-367-4240.

Performance of the Summer: Mozart’s Requiem

The Fairmont State University department of music is excited to announce the performance of the “Mozart Requiem” on Sunday, July 1, 2018, at 5:00pm at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Morgantown, West Virginia.The performance is free and open to the public. A goodwill offering will be collected.

Vets With Guitars benefit concert planned

The Fairmont State University Department of Music is excited to announce a special concert benefiting the Clarksburg V.A. and their Vets With Guitars program. The “Vets With Guitars Benefit Concert” will be live at Fairmont State on Saturday, May 12. The concert starts at 7 p.m. in Wallman Hall Auditorium on the Fairmont State campus. Admission is just $10 at the door. All proceeds will benefit the local Clarksburg V.A. and Vets With Guitars.

Urinetown Showcased at Kennedy Center Theater Festival

Fairmont State University has been selected as one of seven productions to be showcased at the Region Two Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival. They will present Urinetown for 1,000 students and faculty from colleges and universities in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia.
