VISION STATEMENT

Fairmont State University aspires to be nationally recognized as a model for accessible learner-centered institutions that promote student success by providing comprehensive education and excellent teaching, flexible learning environments, and superior services. College of Liberal Arts

By providing rigorous programs of study in the Behavioral Sciences, Language and Literature, and Social Sciences, the College of Liberal Arts fulfills its mission to engage students in pursuit of intellectual excellence and global awareness, bringing them to join with faculty mentors in the discoveries, both personal and professional, to be realized through Scholarship, Opportunity, Achievement, and Responsibility, Fairmont State’s core values.

College of Science and Technology

Our mission is to promote effective student learning in science, math and technology and to prepare top-quality graduates for their future endeavors, including graduate study, employment or other personal goals.

School of Business

The School of Business at Fairmont State University is committed to delivering a quality business education through effective teaching in a caring learning environment that is responsive to the shared needs of students, employers, and the community.

School of Education, Health & Human Performance

School of Nursing

The mission of the Fairmont State University Associate Degree Nursing Program is to provide quality nursing education to people in north central West Virginia and beyond.

The mission of the Fairmont State Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing Program is to offer quality nursing education to nurses in north central West Virginia and beyond.

The mission of the Fairmont State University Bachelor of Science Degree in Allied Health Administration is to provide health professionals quality education to become administrators in health care agencies in north central West Virginia and beyond.

Regents Bachelor of Arts Program

We provide opportunities for you to achieve your professional and personal goals by offering one of the most individualized courses of instruction you can get on campus.  The flexible, nontraditional curriculum, can be tailored for your career advancement.

Graduate Studies

Choosing to pursue a Master's degree program at Fairmont State University represents a commitment to excellence, personal growth, and lifelong learning.  Our graduate programs are committed to a student-centered learning environment that emphasizes concrete experiences, intellectual discourse, and critical reflection.

Air Force ROTC

We provide opportunities for you to achieve your professional and personal goals by offering courses like Foundations of the United States Air Force, The Evolution of USAF Air and Space Power, Air Force Leadership Studies. 

Army ROTC

We provide opportunities for you to achieve your professional and personal goals by emphasizing leadership and excellence.  Students will learn the basic fundamentals of the US Army.

Fairmont State University will host its 2018 Career Fair on Tuesday, February 13th from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM in the Falcon Center on the Fairmont campus.  The career fair is free to attend and open to students, alumni, and the greater Fairmont community.

Dr. Mirta Martin, Fairmont State’s 15th president, is excited to promote local employment to Fairmont State students, alumni and the community.
